Noahs Ark

While living in India Michael Beste became fascinated by the arts and traditions of the country and its peoples.
On his return to Germany in the mid-80′s, he set up Noah’s Ark – a gallery which reflects his love and respect for the wealth and diversity of India’s culture through the ages
He travels regularly to India to explore and purchase for Noah’s Ark.
On his website www.m-beste.de you’ll find antique ornaments in gold and silver, textiles, statues and tribal art.
His customers include museums and galleries as well as individual collectors.
On this site he shows ornaments, which he and his wife are creating, using antique elements and combining them with precious and semi-precious stones. Each of these pieces is wearable, unique and precious.
He is a specialist in the textile traditions of India. You find his article on Baghs and Phulkaris of the Punjab in HALI 113 (Nov/Dec 2000). There is also a small book (unfortunately only in German) on the textiles of the Banjara People of India.
